Kitchen Renovation Budget Considerations

Before deciding on your budget you will want to consider why you want to renovate your kitchen. For example, is the kitchen renovation primarily for your own benefit and comfort while living in the property, or are you renovating for resale or rental tenants?

If you’re planning on selling your property in the near future then you will want to be careful not to over-capitalise in your kitchen renovation. You will want to focus on addressing only the most important functional and cosmetic features a buyer would expect within the price range of properties similar to yours.

For rental properties, you will want to limit your spend, focusing again on basic appearance and functionality required to attract the type of tenant you are seeking. You will also want to use materials that a hard-wearing and less susceptible to damage.

On the other hand,  if you’re not planning on selling your property any time soon, you may want to invest a little more in your kitchen renovation.
